304 is a card game popular in Sri Lanka and India.
Senior reviews editor
304 is a trick-taking card game from Sri Lanka and India. Four players form two partnerships, and bidding comes before the play of each deal. The rules follow the description on pagat.com's page for the game, and the app includes its own detailed rules.
The app suits anyone who knows 304 and wants to play it on a phone, or who wants to learn the traditional rules with the rule text to hand.
The game uses 32 cards from a standard 52-card pack, eight in each suit of hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades. In every suit the cards rank from high to low as Jack, Nine, Ace, Ten, King, Queen, Eight, Seven.
Jacks are worth 30 points, nines 20, aces 11, tens 10, kings 3 and queens 2. Eights and sevens are worth nothing. The full deck adds up to 304 points, which gives the game its name. Players aim to win the tricks that hold the valuable cards.
The app covers caps and partner closed caps, and open and closed trump games. It also handles exhausted trumps, a rule the developer lists among the game's features.
In the game options, caps and caps penalties can each be turned on or off, so a table can play with or without them.
Two bidding rules can be changed: the minimum second bid, and the bid increment once bidding passes 200. Animation speed and the delay before a trick is cleared can also be adjusted.
The look of the table is customisable too, with a choice of background and card back designs.
The build we hold is 304 (3 nought 4) 3.00 (APK) for Android 6.0 and up.
