What this 3D arcade pinball game is
3D Pinball is an arcade pinball game for Android. It is built around four tables, each with its own look, and it is aimed at anyone who wants a table-style pinball game on a phone.
The developer describes the physics as an attempt to reproduce how a real pinball machine behaves, with 3D graphics and a simulated depth effect on top.
Pinball tables and mission objectives
The four tables are themed around pirates, the Wild West, a frozen setting and magic. The developer says each table has its own graphics, instructions and mission system.
Missions ask you to complete a specific objective in a specific way. Finishing them earns high scores or extra balls, so a round has goals beyond keeping the ball in play.
Flipper controls and the camera view
Flippers are operated by touch. Tapping anywhere on the left half of the screen works the left flipper, and tapping the right half works the right flipper.
The camera follows the action from a flying table view, panning and zooming as the ball moves. The developer describes this together with a simulated 3D effect across the board.
Freeing a stuck ball
If the ball wedges in the middle of the table, shaking the phone nudges the table and can knock it loose. This is the only described way to move the table itself.
The developer pairs the physics with sound effects meant to match the action on screen.
