What the puzzle is and who it suits
5555xEmber is a puzzle game set in a dragon sanctuary. You place runes on a 6 by 6 board with the aim of bringing sleeping dragon nests back to life. Each attempt gives you 30 placements, so the order of your drops matters.

Merging runes into dragon runes
You drag a rune into an empty space on the board. Three or more matching runes connected up, down, left or right merge into one rune of the next tier. Three tier-two runes combine into a dragon rune.
The goal is to produce two tier-three runes of the goal element shown on screen before your 30 placements run out.
Opening vine-wrapped stone seals
Some spaces on the board are blocked by vine-wrapped stone seals. Their positions and whether each has one or two layers are visible from the start. A merge next to a seal weakens it, and removing all of its layers opens that space.
Each glade changes the seal layout and the starting rune arrangement, so each one asks for a different route through the board.
Hints, the clearing charm and Starfire runes
A hint highlights a useful landing space for a rune without placing the rune for you. The clearing charm removes up to two randomly selected runes of the lowest tier, which the listing describes as a way to ease a crowded board.
Occasionally a Starfire rune appears marked on the board. Before you place it, you can assign it to ember, mist or stone.
