AD – Nieuws, Regio en Show

What the AD news app covers

AD Nieuws, Regio en Show is the news app from DPG Media for the AD brand. It combines national and international headlines with local news, and adds video, podcasts, sport, entertainment and puzzles in the same app.

The developer describes it as a single place for the latest news in the Netherlands and abroad. Most of what a reader sees comes from a handful of sections, each covering a different kind of content.

Following news from your own region

The Regio section shows the latest news from the villages, towns and regions you pick. It sits beside the Home feed, which carries general and trending news from the Netherlands and abroad.

Someone who mainly wants to know what is happening near home can stay in Regio, while the Home feed covers the wider picture.

Watching news video and series

The Video section holds news clips along with several series. The listing does not separate these into categories beyond that.

It is a way to watch short news reports without leaving the app for a video site.

Puzzles, games and quizzes

The Puzzel section offers hundreds of free puzzles, games and quizzes. The developer lists them as part of the app, not as a separate download.

They sit alongside the news sections, so a reader can move from a headline to a crossword or quiz inside one app.

Podcasts, entertainment and sport

The Podcast section includes a built-in player for AD's podcasts, so episodes play inside the app. The Show section carries entertainment news, and the Sport section gathers the main sports stories into one overview.
