What the AI keyboard is for
This is a keyboard app that sends text to GPT models through the GPT API and returns suggestions while you write. The developer frames it around people who write a lot at work or school, who want feedback on their writing, or who find complex messages hard to answer.
It is listed in the Personalization category, and its developer is Starnest JSC. On the Play listing it has 4.39 stars from 30,653 ratings and more than 1,000,000 installs.
Grammar checks and corrections
The Grammar Check feature looks at text you type and flags or corrects grammatical errors. The developer presents this for messages where mistakes could make the sender look careless, such as work email or chat with a manager.
Because the grammar checking runs on GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini, the developer describes it as more than word-level spell correction. It is meant to fix sentence-level problems as well.
Drafting replies, emails and longer text
Auto Reply drafts a response to a message you have received, which the developer pitches for messages that are hard to answer. Continue Writing picks up a sentence or paragraph you have started and extends it. AI Email Writer produces a full email from the points you give it.
Together these cover the case of staring at a blank box, the case of a message you do not know how to answer, and the case of drafting the same kind of email again and again.
Rewriting sentences and changing tone
The Tone Changer rewrites text so it reads in a different tone, adapted to the context in which the message will be sent. The developer's examples are messages that come across as dry or lacking personality.
The app can also rewrite complete sentences rather than only correcting individual words. It supports essay writing in multiple languages, so the same rewriting and drafting tools apply to longer assignments as well as short messages.
