AirDroid Control Add-on

What this add-on is and who it is for

AirDroid Control Add-on is a companion piece for the AirDroid and AirDroid Remote Support apps. It adds remote control features to an Android device that is already set up with one of those apps. The listing describes it as a tool for devices an enterprise manages, so the people it is aimed at are those whose phones or tablets are under company control.

The add-on is not meant to be found and installed on its own. The developer says it is supplied automatically by AirDroid or AirDroid Remote Support on supported devices, and its details and download link appear inside those apps.

How it gets to a device and gets switched on

Because it arrives through AirDroid or AirDroid Remote Support, the add-on is tied to those apps. The listing points users to the AirDroid website for more information about the main product.

After the add-on is installed, it has to be enabled in the device's Accessibility settings. The listing says the remote features only work once that is done, so the add-on does nothing useful until it is switched on there.

Enterprise remote control of your device

Once enabled, the add-on lets an enterprise control your device remotely. The listing does not say which actions an administrator can take, what the session looks like on screen, or how a session is started or ended. It only states that remote control is what the add-on is for.

Black Screen Mode set remotely by an administrator

The add-on also lets an enterprise turn on Black Screen Mode from a distance. The listing gives no further detail about what the mode changes on the device or how long it stays active. It is only described as a mode an enterprise can activate remotely once the add-on is enabled.
