What this video player and downloader covers

All Video Downloader & Player combines a local video player with a tool for saving online videos, both for Android phones and tablets. The listing also refers to it as AcePlayer. It is aimed at people who keep video files on their device and also want to fetch clips from the web into the same app.

The listing says the full version is free at present. Its main jobs are playing high resolution files, downloading web videos in HD, and keeping private clips locked away.

Playing local videos in many formats

The player is listed as handling 4K, UHD, 1080p and HD files, and it names MKV, MP4, M4V, MOV, 3GP, FLV, F4V and WEBM among the formats it supports. Video stored on the device is found automatically, so files do not need to be added by hand.

Playback is controlled partly by gestures, which the listing describes as smart gesture operation. Playback can also be set to loop, and an A-B repeat option lets you mark a section to replay. A sleep timer is included for stopping playback after a set time.

Watching while using other apps

A pop-up window mode shrinks the video into a floating window, so a clip can keep playing while you use other apps. A separate background mode keeps the audio running when you leave the video.

Both modes are listed as ways to keep watching or listening while doing other tasks, rather than as a way to pause everything else.

Downloading online videos in HD

The downloader saves online videos in high resolution and across the formats the listing names. Several downloads can run at the same time, and they continue in the background while you use the app for something else.

Downloaded files are kept on the device and can be opened in the same player, so the downloader and the player work as one tool.

Keeping private videos locked

A private folder keeps selected videos out of normal view and is protected by a password. The listing presents it as a place for personal clips and movies that should not be easy to open.

The folder is part of the same app, so it sits alongside the player and downloader rather than requiring a separate vault app.
