The app listing, the version table and the download step are laid out by this site’s stylesheet. With stylesheets switched off, or blocked before they arrive, none of that layout exists, so the page is not shown.

Explore who and where you personally came from through photos, stories, historical records, and so much more— even your ethnicity and family communities if you’ve taken an AncestryDNA® test.

This is a genealogy app for tracing your own ancestors. You begin with a single relative's name and work outward through a family tree, historical records, photos and stories about the people in it. If you have an AncestryDNA kit, you can also bring your DNA results into the same tree.
It suits people who want to research their family history from home, whether they are starting with a grandparent's name or already have a tree and want to fill gaps. The phone and tablet features are aimed at looking up a relative, sharing what turns up, and adding to the tree as you go.
You can build a tree, search for and add family members, upload or scan photos, and attach facts or stories to each person. The listing says the tree can be shared and worked on with friends and family. Messages from other Ancestry members are free to receive, while unrestricted messaging requires a trial or subscription.
Hints appear based on your tree and point to records, photos and stories about your ancestors. Receiving hints is free, but using Ancestry Hints fully is part of the trial or subscription. The app also shows your ancestors' life stories on a map, and Ancestry Academy videos cover the basics of genealogy research.
Census records search is free, with more than 1.1 billion free records available without payment. A free trial or paid subscription opens more than 30 billion records and photos, and it is also needed to find pictures of your family and discover new relatives.
The Discover feed collects your hints and discoveries so you can review them, dismiss the ones that do not fit, or save others for later. On a phone or tablet you can find yearbook photos of a relative, and the app shows historical events that affected your ancestors' lives.
After you activate an AncestryDNA kit, the app shows your ethnicity results and lists your DNA matches, which you can compare with your own results. Linking your DNA to your tree is meant to add context to both, so matches can be read against the people already in your family history.
Traits can be added to your DNA results. They show how your genes could influence more than 35 fitness, nutrient, sensory and appearance traits.
The build we hold is Ancestry: Family History & DNA 18.17 (APKS split bundle) for Android 12L and up.
