This page needs its stylesheet to be shown
The app listing, the version table and the download step are laid out by this site’s stylesheet. With stylesheets switched off, or blocked before they arrive, none of that layout exists, so the page is not shown.

This is the service that allows use of your Android phone or tablet as a remote for your Android TV.

The app turns an Android phone or tablet into a remote control for an Android TV device. It is meant for people who would rather steer the TV from a phone than pick up the physical remote.
Once connected, the phone handles navigation, voice search, text entry and some game control on the TV. It is listed under Tools.
The phone offers two control modes. A d-pad mode lets you move through menus and content one step at a time, the way a standard remote does. A touchpad mode lets you move a pointer around the screen by sliding your finger.
The build we hold is Android TV Remote Service 6.9.906821247 (APK) for Android 7.0 and up.

The listing says you can switch between the two modes easily. It also says you can use either one to play games on the TV.
Tapping the microphone on the phone starts a voice search on the Android TV. This avoids speaking into the TV's own remote or hunting through an on-screen letter grid.
A keyboard on the phone can be used to type text directly into the TV, for example into a search field or a login box.
The phone and the TV need to be on the same network. The listing also says the TV can be found over Bluetooth if the network route is not used.
The listing does not describe the pairing steps beyond these two connection routes.
