AnyDesk is a remote desktop app. You use it to view and control a computer or other device from another location, whether that device is in the next room or abroad. The developer aims it at IT support staff, people working from home, and students who need to reach a machine they are not sitting at.
The core is a connection built from a 9-digit style AnyDesk-ID that identifies each device. The developer says the app is ad-free and free for personal use, and that commercial use requires a paid order through its website.
The build we hold is AnyDesk Remote Desktop 9.0.2 (APKS split bundle) for Android 10 and up.

Install and open AnyDesk on both devices. Type the AnyDesk-ID shown on the device you want to reach, then confirm the access request on that device before the session begins. Once accepted, you control the remote screen from the Android device in your hand.
The developer describes the connection as secure and reliable, and says it works across operating systems, so the remote device does not have to be the same kind of machine as yours.
File Transfer lets you copy files between the two connected devices during a session. Remote Printing is also listed among the session functions the developer offers.
These tools sit alongside remote control in the same session, so you can fetch a document from the other machine while still working on its screen.
Wake-On-LAN lets you switch on a device that is asleep or powered down, so you can reach it without someone walking over to press the button.
The VPN feature builds a private network between your device and the remote one. Once connected over VPN, the developer lists SSH access to the remote device and LAN-multiplayer games played over the internet. The developer also states that devices on the remote client's own local network cannot be reached through this VPN, and the reverse is also true.
The developer says the app uses banking-standard encryption and aims for high frame rates and low latency. These are the developer's own claims, and the listing does not provide measurements.
AnyDesk can run in the cloud or on-premises, which the developer presents as a choice for organisations that manage their own servers and for those that do not.
