App Lock: Lock App,Fingerprint

What App Lock is for

App Lock is an Android app locker from Litter Penguin. It puts a lock in front of other apps, so a person who borrows the phone cannot open them without the unlock method.

It is aimed at people who share a phone, or who want their social and messaging apps kept out of view. The listing describes its locks as patterns, passwords and fingerprints.

Locking social and messaging apps

The listing names Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, Gmail, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, WeChat and SMS as apps it can lock with one click. Once locked, the app asks for the unlock method before it opens.

The listing presents this as a way to stop someone reading private chats. It works on the apps themselves, not on the messages inside them.

Hiding photos and videos behind a password

A separate hiding feature keeps selected pictures and videos out of view. They can only be seen after entering the password.

This sits alongside the app locks, so private media can be kept in the same place as the locked apps that open it.

Protecting messages, call logs and notes

Beyond apps and media, the listing says App Lock can lock text messages, call logs and notes. These are the records a person would usually check on a borrowed phone.

Each is covered by the same unlock method used for the rest of the app locks.

Unlock methods and locking every app

Unlocking can be done with a pattern, a password or a fingerprint, depending on what the phone supports. The listing also offers a mode that locks all installed apps at once, rather than choosing them one by one.
