Bark: Great pros, found fast

What Bark is for and who it suits

Bark is a hiring app from Bark.com for finding local professionals. It covers household work such as cleaning and home maintenance, and personal services such as therapy, life coaching, photography and personal training.

It suits people who want help with a house job or a personal goal and would rather look at several options in one app than search for each service separately.

Browsing professionals by category

You choose a category, such as house cleaning, therapy, photography or personal training, and browse the professionals listed under it. The listing describes the professionals as verified and says the app uses tech-enabled tools to connect you with them.

Comparing profiles, reviews and quotes

Each professional has a profile, and the app lets you read their reviews and the quotes they have provided. You can compare these across several people in the same category before you decide who to contact.

The comparison is meant to help you choose with more confidence, according to the listing, rather than picking the first result.

Home and personal services in one app

The listing groups its services into two areas: home work, including house cleaning and home maintenance, and personal well-being, including therapy, life coaching and fitness training. Photography also appears among the categories.

Because all of these sit in one app, you can move between a cleaner and a personal trainer without leaving the same hiring flow.
