Blood Moon

A text-only werewolf novel

Blood Moon is an interactive novel by Barbara Truelove, listed on Google Play under the developer Hosted Games and rated 10+. You play a werewolf who is pulled into a city's paranormal underbelly after a single chance encounter.

The story is 445,000 words of text. There are no graphics or sound effects, so the scenes and characters exist as the prose describes them.

The city's underworld and its factions

The city is ruled by vampires, and witches, hunters and ghosts share its seedy underside. The opening encounter is presented as random, but it draws you into this world.

Each faction is part of the setting you move through as you make decisions in the story.

Choices, the pack and their fates

Your pack travels with you as allies and friends, and the developer says they may become something more. Each choice you make decides your own fate and theirs.

Because the outcome is shared, the pack relationships are where the decisions carry the most weight.

Reading an interactive novel on your phone

The developer says the story runs on your imagination, since the text is the only visual. Reading it through means working through the length of a 445,000-word novel, with choices along the way.
