Automatic reconnection to paired Bluetooth devices

Bluetooth Auto Connect is a Tools app from Devolutionapps that links an Android phone to Bluetooth gadgets you have already paired, so you do not have to go into the Bluetooth menu each time. The developer aims it at people who switch between several devices every day, such as headphones, speakers, a car system or a smartwatch.

Once you have chosen your settings, the app makes the connection itself. You decide what triggers it, how many times it tries, and which device comes first.

Choosing what starts a connection attempt

You select when the app begins to connect. The two options are Bluetooth being switched on and another device connecting to the phone. Either one can start an attempt without you opening Bluetooth settings.

Ranking paired devices by priority

The app can give the device you connected most recently the top position, so it is tried first. You can also rank device types: headphones, speakers, car system, smartwatches and laptop. If two or more of your devices are switched on, such as headphones and speakers, the one with the higher rank is tried first.

Retry count, pause length and Bluetooth profiles

You set how many connection attempts the app makes and how long it waits between them. The developer says the pause is meant for devices that take longer to respond. The app also lets you choose which Bluetooth profiles it uses: music and video audio, call audio, keyboards and other input devices, internet sharing, and phonebook. Only the profiles you pick are part of the connection.
