Low phone battery alert at a level you choose

What Brief does on a Wear OS watch face

Brief is a complication and tile for Wear OS watches. It sits in a complication slot on the watch face you already use and shows one item at a time: whatever needs attention most. When nothing needs attention, it shows the date.

The app is aimed at people who want a quick read of music, messages, meetings and the weather without opening anything on the wrist. It works as a single card on the face, not as a full app screen.

Music and phone notifications on your wrist

The Now Playing view shows the current track, its artist and a progress ring. You can tap it to play or pause, and that tap is optional. The developer lists this as a way to control music from the watch.

Notifications mirror alerts from the apps you select. Any other app is ignored. When you dismiss an alert on your phone, it clears from the watch too.

Calendar events, weather and reminders

The calendar view shows your next event with a live countdown. If you want meeting titles kept private, you can replace every title with the word Busy.

Weather shows current conditions, the feels-like temperature and a heads-up before rain. The developer says it refreshes in the background, so you do not need to open the app to keep it current. Reminders are your own nudges, such as a medication time or a prompt to stand up, set to the schedule you choose. Tapping one marks it done.

Phone battery alerts and the default display

Brief can warn you when your phone's battery falls to a level you set, so the watch says so before the phone runs flat.

When none of the above applies, the slot can show the date, a line of your own text, or nothing at all.
