A Lite bus driving game set in Havensburg

Bus Simulator City Ride Lite is a bus driving game in which you carry passengers around the city of Havensburg. It is the free-to-try starting point of the newest Bus Simulator title, so it suits anyone who wants to see how the series plays before deciding on the full game.

The Lite version gives you two licensed buses, one from Setra and one from BYD. The rest of the game sits behind an in-app purchase.

Driving licensed buses on city routes

The main activity is driving a bus through city traffic while transporting passengers. The buses are officially licensed models, which the listing says means they carry real manufacturer names and designs.

The full version adds ten bus models from Alexander Dennis, Blue Bird, BYD, IVECO BUS, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, Setra, Volvo and Vicinity Motor Corp. You drive the routes in whichever bus you have unlocked.

Missions and unlocking more content

The Lite version includes four missions that introduce the game. Each one is a short campaign step set in Havensburg.

In the full version, completing campaign missions unlocks more buses, districts and routes. The in-app purchase gives access to all buses, all missions and all features at once, rather than unlocking them through play.

Building a public transport network

Beyond driving individual routes, the game asks you to climb a career ladder and build a public transport network for your city. Progress through the career is tied to the routes and missions you complete.

This part of the game covers planning the network as well as driving it, so the city grows with the routes you run.
