The app listing, the version table and the download step are laid out by this site’s stylesheet. With stylesheets switched off, or blocked before they arrive, none of that layout exists, so the page is not shown.

Button Mapper makes it easy to remap custom actions to your volume buttons and other hardware buttons.
By Hafiz Rahman
Editor, tools and utilities
Button Mapper assigns an action to a physical or on-screen-free hardware key, such as a volume key, a camera button or a headset button. The action can be launching an app or shortcut, or a system function like toggling the flashlight or opening notifications.
It is aimed at people who want to reach a function without unlocking the phone and navigating to it. The developer lists examples such as a long press on volume to open the camera, or a double tap to bring up notifications. Mappings are made inside the app, one button at a time.
The build we hold is Button Mapper: Remap your keys 4.12 (APKS split bundle) for Android 8.1 and up.

Each button can carry a different action for a single press, a double press and a long press. A volume key, for example, can change brightness on a tap and open a chosen app on a long press.
The long press and double tap timing can be adjusted. A delay on the first press can be turned on so that double tap detection works more reliably. Button Mapper can also be switched off while specific apps are open.
The supported buttons are the physical home, back and recents or menu keys, both volume keys, most camera buttons, and many headset buttons. Custom buttons can be added from a phone, headphones, gamepad, TV remote or other peripheral, including active and mute keys.
The action list covers launching any app or shortcut, camera shutter, screen off, flashlight, quick settings, notifications, the power dialog and screenshots. It also includes media previous, next and play/pause, volume and mute, last app switch, do-not-disturb, brightness, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, screen rotation, clearing notifications and split screen. A button can also be set to do nothing.
Most actions work without root. Some need root, including Now on tap, the menu button, scrolling up and down, and choosing a custom keycode. Other actions can be enabled with an adb command run from a connected PC when the phone is not rooted.
The pro version, which the listing describes as a separate unlock, adds simulated keycodes, broadcast intents, scripts and root commands. It also adds volume key swapping on orientation change, pocket detection, themes, a ring-volume default on Pie or later, and haptic feedback settings. Remapping works with the screen off only on a rooted phone or with an adb command.
Button Mapper does not remap on-screen buttons, such as soft keys or the navigation bar, and it does not remap the power button. The options shown in the app depend on the physical buttons a given phone has, so a phone without home, back and recents keys will show fewer choices.
