What the calorie and macro tracker covers
This is a food diary and nutrition planner aimed at people with weight loss, macro or general nutrition goals. It tracks calories, macronutrients and water against targets you set, and the listing groups these with fitness goals as well.
It does not tell you which foods to eat. You choose what you want to eat, and the app shows how the amounts fit your calorie and macro targets. The developer states that macro proportions matter nearly as much as total calorie intake, and the tracker is built around that.
Adjusting food amounts to fit the day
If you have calories left at the end of the day, you can add a food and see how much of it fits into the remaining budget. This works the other way too: when your intake runs over, the figures show where you stand against each target.
The listing says the app helps you stay as close as possible to your calorie, macro and nutrient goals, and this adjustment step is how it does that during a day.
Planning meals for a day or a week
The meal planner lets you lay out meals for the next day or for a full week, rather than logging only after you eat. Each planned day is checked against the same calorie and macro goals used for tracking.
Because the plan and the log use the same targets, a planned day and an actual day can be compared directly.
Macro grams per kilogram or pound of body weight
The app converts your protein, fat and carbohydrate intake into grams per kilogram (g/kg) or grams per pound (g/lb) of body weight. This is useful if your coach, plan or training guide sets targets in those units rather than in total grams.
The same calculation runs in both directions, so you can read your current intake in the unit you prefer.
Water tracking and recipe calculation
A built-in water tracker logs how much you drink and sends reminders when it is time to have some water. It sits inside the same app as the food and calorie tracking, so water and meals are reviewed together.
The recipe calculation feature is listed in the app's summary but the listing gives no further detail on how recipes are entered or broken down.
