Senior reviews editor
CarX Drift Racing 2 is a mobile drift racing game and the sequel to the CarX series. The developer says more than 100 million people have downloaded CarX games, and this one adds online rooms and a tandem drifting mode alongside the single-player races.
It suits people who want to slide cars around tracks and build up their own machines, whether they play alone or with friends. The developer advises a break every 40 minutes, and warns that sessions can run for hours.
The build we hold is CarX Drift Racing 2 1.43.0 (XAPK bundle) for Android 7.0 and up.

Performance tuning covers suspension, springs, tyre air pressure and wheel angle, along with the engine, turbo pressure, gearbox, brakes and locking differential. The developer says the car has to be set up to the driver's needs before good drifts are possible.
Visual tuning lets you swap mirrors, lights, running boards and bumpers, and add body kits, rims and vinyls. The listing presents these as a way to make each car look distinct.
In tandem drifting, one car leads and the other follows. The XDS mode has you race as the leader, then as the follower chasing your own line. It is scored on a 100-point system that the developer says is based on real drift competition judging, and it lets you swap cars and tyre pressures quickly for practice.
Online rooms let you pick a location, drift in real time with friends, and earn points. Ranks give rewards, and a drone camera lets you watch other players drift.
The Top-32 tournament has you register, pass a qualifying round, then move through the bracket against the best drifters in the world. Multiplayer adds online championships, leagues and tandem races that unlock premium vehicles. Clubs let you create or join a group and chat with members.
Single-player races earn play-cash and open race cups and new tracks. A Ghost mode lets you run against a recording to practise. Play-cash, purchased cars and tracks are saved to your profile, and the listing advises a stable internet connection for play.
The listing says the steering was reworked for quick direction changes, backward driving and drift donuts. It also says tyre pressure feeds into the driving physics, and that the developer ran field tests with real drift cars to collect data for the model.
Cars handle differently on asphalt, sand, grass and snow, and the tracks are described as detailed. Handbrake skids, tyre marks on the asphalt and tyre smoke are all part of the drifting.
