What CDG Zig is and who it is for

CDG Zig is the renamed ComfortDelGro Taxi Booking App, published by ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited. It puts taxi and car bookings, bus charters, deals and a rewards membership under one roof. The developer describes ComfortDelGro as one of the world's largest land transport companies, operating in Singapore and six other countries.

It suits people in Singapore who book taxis or private hire cars regularly, and anyone organising a group trip or event who needs a bus. The deals and rewards sections are aimed at people who want discounts on everyday spending.

Booking car rides and tracking the driver

While you search for a ride, the app shows drivers nearby. Once a driver is assigned, you can follow their location and route on the map, both before pickup and during the trip. The listing also gives an estimated pickup time and an estimated drop-off time.

The live map is the main thing to use if you want to know when a car will arrive or how far along a trip is.

Chartering buses for private events

The bus booking section is for private events and gatherings rather than regular commuting. You choose from 10, 19 and 40-seater vehicles, so the size can match a small team or a large party.

Bus bookings also count toward ZigPoints, described in the rewards section below.

Deals, discounts and deal history

The Deals area lists discounts across categories the listing names as beauty and recreational activities. Each deal you buy or claim stays in your list, so you can look back at current and past deals.

Buying a deal also earns ZigPoints, which links this section to the rewards system.

Earning and spending ZigPoints

ZigRewards is a free membership. ZigPoints are earned on car and bus bookings, on trips taken through the Pay for Street Hail feature, and on Deals purchases. Points can be spent in two ways: to offset part of a car ride fare, or to redeem rewards in the ZigRewards catalogue.

Because points come from rides, bus charters and deals, regular users of more than one of these sections would collect them from each.
