By Hafiz Rahman
Editor, tools and utilities
- Live meter that turns green while charging and red while draining
- Current in mA, power in watts, and speed labels from Slow to Ultra fast
- Meter scale that covers everything from a computer USB port to 160 W
- Battery capacity in mAh, measured on the phone during use and charging
- Battery health as a percentage, with capacity lost to wear
- Charge cycle counts read from the phone or estimated when it does not share them
What Charge Meter measures and who it suits
Charge Meter is a charging monitor for Android phones. It shows the live charging current in milliamps, which is the figure that tells you how quickly power is going into the battery. It suits people who want to know whether a new charger or cable is really faster than the old one, or who want a readout of battery wear.
According to the listing, everything it reports is read on the phone itself, while the phone is charging or being used.
Live charging speed meter
The meter turns green while power flows into the phone and red while the phone draws power from its battery. Current is shown in mA and power in watts, alongside a plain speed label: Slow, Normal, Fast, Very fast, Super fast or Ultra fast. The meter moves faster as the charge speeds up.
It updates as soon as a charger is plugged in or pulled out. The battery level is counted live to three decimal places.
Comparing chargers and cables
To compare, plug in one charger, note the current, then swap in another charger or cable and read it again. The listing says a worn cable or a weak charger shows up straight away in that reading.
The meter scale adjusts to whichever charger is connected, so the same screen covers a computer USB port and a 160 W fast charger.
Battery capacity and health readings
Charge Meter measures real battery capacity in mAh from readings taken while the phone charges and is used. It converts that into a battery health percentage and shows how much capacity the battery has lost to wear.
The current charge level is counted live alongside these numbers, so capacity and charge can be read at the same time.
Charge cycle counts
Where the phone shares its charge cycle count, Charge Meter shows that figure. Where the phone does not share one, Charge Meter estimates the count itself, so the number can come from either source.
What's new
• The language you choose in Settings now applies across the whole app
• Arabic and Persian lay out right-to-left throughout
• Battery readings now show on every phone, including some Xiaomi models
