What clickworker is and who it suits

clickworker is a platform for micro jobs, small tasks that take a few minutes each and pay a small amount. You can work from the app on your phone or through the website on a PC, using the same account. The developer, clickworker GmbH, describes the work as something to do at home or on the go, alongside other commitments.

The work suits people who want small, flexible earnings and can check in whenever they have time. The developer suggests checking the app daily, since the amount of available work goes up and down.

Survey, research and app testing tasks

Most of the listed work is answering questions and testing things. Surveys and online research ask you for opinions or information, and app testing asks you to try an application and report on it. These are the tasks most people would start with, since they need no special equipment beyond a phone or computer.

Each job is short and separate, so you pick up what is on offer and move on rather than working a set schedule.

Recordings, store visits and photo tasks

Some jobs ask you to make audio or video recordings with your smartphone. Others are mystery photography and store visits, where you go to a location and take photos or report on what you see. These tasks depend on where you are and what the client has requested at the time.

Because they involve being out and about, this type of work is the part of the listing most tied to your location and surroundings.

Text writing, proofreading and data sorting

The listing also includes writing and proofing texts, and categorizing data. These are desk-style tasks that can be done on either the app or the PC. They involve reading, editing or sorting content into categories rather than recording or photographing anything.

The developer also lists many other micro jobs beyond the named categories, so the exact mix you see will vary.

Profiles, qualification tests and PayPal payouts

To start, you register online or in the app and fill out a profile with information about yourself. After that you can begin your first jobs. The developer recommends taking some of the tests, which qualify you for additional jobs. Work that requires qualification is only open once you have passed the relevant test.

Earnings are paid out weekly to a PayPal account, so you need one to receive payment. Questions can go to the clickworker support team directly, or to the clickworker forum, where other workers share advice.
