What Clock Vault is for

Clock Vault is a hidden photo and video locker. It moves pictures, videos and documents out of the normal gallery and into a separate vault that only opens through the app. The developer presents it as a way to keep files other people should not see out of view on the phone.

The app suits someone who shares a device, or who simply wants certain files kept apart from the everyday gallery. Its front end is a clock app, so the vault is not obvious on the home screen.

Hiding photos, videos and documents

Pictures are hidden from the gallery into the vault, and the listing says the app can also import, move and restore them. Documents are handled the same way. Videos can be hidden in many formats, which covers most files a phone is likely to hold.

Hidden videos can be played in a separate video player app on the phone without being unlocked from the vault. Restoring a file returns it to the gallery.

Opening the vault through the clock disguise

The vault sits behind the clock app and is opened with a secret time password. Someone glancing at the phone sees only a clock.
