What Contacts covers and who it suits

Contacts is an Android app from Apps Specials that puts a contact list and a phone dialer in one place. It suits someone who calls the same people regularly and wants to keep those numbers and their details in one app.

Its functions fall into three groups: managing the contact list, searching it, and dialing. The listing gives its content rating as Everyone.

Adding, editing and organizing contacts

You can add new contacts, edit the details of existing ones, delete entries and organize the list. These are the basic actions for keeping a phone book current: new numbers in, corrected details updated, and people no longer needed removed.

The listing presents this as the core of the app, so most of its day-to-day use is likely to happen here.

Finding a contact by name, number or details

Search matches a contact by its name, its phone number or other details stored on it. The listing describes the aim as reaching a contact immediately, without scrolling through the full list.

This matters most when the list is long, since the search runs on whatever part of the contact you remember.

Placing calls with the speed dialer

The speed dialer is for making calls quickly from the dialer screen. The listing also mentions easy controls for phone calls, and it names a Call Insights feature as part of the app.

Together, the dialer and the contact list let you find a person and call them from the same app.

Syncing contacts so they are not lost

Sync is described as a way to update contacts without losing data. The listing says the aim is to keep important contacts available at any time and from anywhere.

For someone who depends on a few key numbers, this is the feature that keeps the list intact between edits.
