What dataDex covers and who it suits
dataDex is a Pokédex app for the Pokémon games, covering everything from Red and Blue through Scarlet and Violet to Legends: Z-A. The developer describes it as unofficial and says Pokémon Champions is also supported.
Data is sorted by game, so a player in one version sees the details for that version. It suits people who want reference data while they play, or who plan teams and hunt for specific Pokémon.
Looking up stats, abilities and moves by game
Each Pokémon page lists its stats, abilities, evolution methods, alternate forms and the moves it can learn. You choose a game first, and the entries shown are the ones relevant to that game.
Favorites can be saved so the Pokémon you check most often stay within reach.
Building and checking a team of six
The team builder holds up to six Pokémon. For each one you pick moves, ability, held item and nature, then adjust stats, EVs and IVs.
Once a team is set, the app shows its weaknesses and move coverage, and suggests moves that cover types the team lacks. A random team generator is available if you want a starting point.
Finding where to catch Pokémon by location
The Location Dex lists where Pokémon appear, how each one is encountered, and the levels to expect. It also gives encounter rates, conditions and differences between versions.
You can look up a location to see which Pokémon live there, or open a Pokémon's page to find where it appears and any other ways to obtain it.
Tracking your collection with checklists
Collection checklists are included for keeping track of the Pokémon you are gathering across games. Together with the favorites list, they keep your current progress and most-used entries in one place.
