What the DealSeek coupon finder is for

DealSeek is a shopping app that collects promo codes, coupons and price drops from a short list of retailers in one place. It currently covers Amazon, Walmart, Target and Best Buy, and the developer says more retailers are planned. The developer calls the app free.

It suits people who buy from those four stores and have been burned by coupon sites that list codes which no longer work. Most of what it does is aimed at finding a working discount before checkout.

Finding promo codes and verified price drops

The deal finder searches for promo codes and coupons for the supported stores. The developer says the codes are updated and verified in real time, and that a code can be reached in one tap. The app also tracks price drops on the same retailers, so a lower price can show up alongside a code.

Because coverage is limited to four retailers for now, the finder is most useful for someone whose shopping already happens at Amazon, Walmart, Target or Best Buy.

Daily deals, flash sales and name brand savings

New bargains and discounts are added through the day, and the developer lists flash sales among them. This is the part of the app for browsing rather than hunting for a specific code.

A separate Name Brand section collects discounts on well-known brands and household items. Picks in the wider deal feed are chosen by the developer's deal hunters, who review the top selections for value before they are shown.

Deal alerts and how they are reviewed

DealSeek can send notifications about trending items and the best deals it finds. The developer says an editorial team reviews every deal before an alert goes out, so an alert is meant to be a deal the team has already looked at.

The alerts cover the same four retailers as the rest of the app. Their usefulness depends on which of those stores a person actually shops at.
