What the Detran-SP app is for
Detran-SP is the mobile app of the São Paulo State Traffic Department, published by PRODESP, the state's data processing company. It gives drivers and vehicle owners in São Paulo state a way to reach Detran inquiries and services without going to a counter. The developer describes this version as a full redesign of the earlier app.
The app covers two kinds of task: looking up information about a driver or vehicle, and carrying out a few transactions such as transfers and licensing. Its main audience is people who already deal with Detran for their own cars, motorcycles or driving licence.
Signing in with Gov.br and biometrics

Seeing these together means you can check the status of several items without opening a separate page for each one.
Transfers, licensing and vehicle lookups
The developer lists four services that run directly in the app: vehicle transfer, digital licensing, vehicle inquiry and a parts search. Transfer and licensing are the two that change records, while the inquiry and parts search only look information up.
