What DNS Changer - Fast & Secure does on Android
DNS Changer - Fast & Secure is a settings tool for switching the DNS server a phone or tablet uses to look up website addresses. It runs on the device itself, so no root access or router changes are involved. The listing presents it for people who want to try another resolver when pages are slow to start, or who want a provider that filters ads, malware or content for families.
The app lists Cloudflare, Google Public DNS, AdGuard DNS, Quad9 and CleanBrowsing as selectable providers. Users can also type in their own IPv4 and IPv6 DNS addresses. The developer says it lets you decide which provider handles the DNS requests routed through the app.
Picking a DNS provider for Wi-Fi or mobile data
The provider you choose can be set for Wi-Fi or for mobile data, so the same phone can use different resolvers on each network. The listing describes a responsive DNS server as one that can reduce lookup delays, which may help pages begin loading sooner. The app does not claim a specific speed.
Some providers in the list run filtering. The listing names ad blocking, security and family filters as options, so a person wanting to block ad domains or restrict certain content can pick a provider that offers that filter. The filtering is done by the chosen provider, not by a separate feature of the app.
Adding custom IPv4 and IPv6 DNS servers
If the provider you want is not in the preset list, you can enter its address by hand. Both IPv4 and IPv6 formats are supported, which matters for networks and services that use IPv6 addresses.
Custom entries are useful for people who already know the resolver they want, such as one run by an organisation or a self-hosted server. The app does not suggest addresses; it only uses the ones you enter.
Connecting, disconnecting and checking status
A single tap turns the DNS connection on or off. The current connection status is shown inside the app, so you can confirm which state the phone is in without leaving it. This keeps the switch between your default DNS and a chosen provider quick to make.
The listing says the app runs on phones and tablets and works on home or work Wi-Fi as well as on mobile data, including 4G and 5G connections.
