DRAGON BALL LEGENDS

What the game is and who it suits

DRAGON BALL LEGENDS is a mobile battle game built around Dragon Ball characters, with fights that combine action-style controls and card-based team choices. The developer, Bandai Namco Entertainment, lists more than 400 fighters from the series. It suits people who already know these characters and want to build a roster of them, and the listing gives the game an 18+ rating.

Collecting and training fighters

The roster includes Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, Frieza, Broly, Majin Buu, Gohan, Krillin and Cell, along with other heroes and villains. You find characters, train them and assemble the team you bring into battle. Characters can also be summoned from the DBZ, DBGT and DBS series.

The listing also mentions random-item purchases. With these, the item you receive is not chosen by you.

Card-based battles and controls

The listing describes intuitive fighting controls alongside simple card-based strategic gameplay. Because the fighters you have trained make up your team, roster building and battle strategy depend on each other.

Story, Shallot and 3D presentation

The story is new and centers on Shallot, a Saiyan character the listing says was designed by manga creator Akira Toriyama. You join Shallot and familiar characters to help save the world.

The fighters and their animations are rendered in 3D.
