Driver Power App: offer calculator for gig drivers

By Mei-Lin Chua

Contributing editor, apps and storefronts

Offer Calculator for checking delivery offers before you accept
Hour log for tracking driving hours
Distance tracker that maps the miles you cover
Works alongside Uber, Lyft, Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub driver apps

What the app is for and who uses it

Driver Power App is a utility for people who take rideshare or delivery work through other apps. The listing names Uber, Lyft, Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub, and says the app is meant to be used alongside them rather than in place of them.

The developer pitches it at independent drivers who run their gig work as a small business. Its three main functions are an offer calculator, an hour log and a distance tracker, and they are meant to be used together over the course of a shift.

Checking an offer before accepting it

The Offer Calculator is meant to work out the details of a job offer before you press accept in the driver app. The listing describes it as a way to evaluate delivery offers before you start driving.

The listing does not say which offer fields the calculator reads or what it outputs, so the features it covers are limited to what the developer states here.

Logging driving hours and miles

The hour log records the hours you spend driving, so you can see time worked across days or shifts. The developer presents it as a simple way to track that time without a separate spreadsheet.

The distance tracker records the miles you cover and, according to the listing, maps every mile driven. Together, the hour log and distance tracker cover the time and mileage side of a gig workday.

Using it with Uber, DoorDash and other driver apps

The listing positions Driver Power App as a companion for drivers working with Uber Eats, Grubhub and DoorDash driver apps, as well as Uber and Lyft. It runs next to those apps and does not connect to them as a replacement for their own driver tools.

The listing describes the app as an all-in-one tool for gig drivers who work on more than one platform. Its features are the calculator, the hour log and the distance tracker.
