What DuckDuckGo covers and who it suits

DuckDuckGo is a free browser with its own search engine, built to stop websites, ad networks and other companies from collecting data about you while you search and browse. Its search does not log your queries, and the browser blocks trackers and cookie pop-ups.

It suits people who want less tracking without much setup, and who may also want email masking, a VPN or AI chat in the same app. Paid subscriptions add a VPN on up to 5 devices, advanced AI models for complex tasks, personal information removal on desktop and identity theft restoration. Subscriptions are billed through your Google Account until you cancel them in app settings.

Private search, tracker blocking and encryption

Searches go through DuckDuckGo's built-in engine. The browser blocks most third-party cookies and the scripts hidden trackers use to load, and it tries to stop attempts to combine browser and device details into a fingerprint. Cookie preferences are set automatically to minimize cookies.

Where a site supports it, the browser forces an HTTPS connection, which keeps people on shared Wi-Fi from seeing as much of what you load. It also blocks most video ads and invasive trackers on pages. The listing notes that some tracking protection limits apply after clicking an ad in search results.

Clearing data and blocking trackers in other apps
