ESP32_Flasher is a tool for loading firmware onto Espressif ESP microcontroller boards from an Android phone. The phone connects to the board over USB, using UART or OTG. Its listed functions are flash, read, erase and OTA update.
It suits anyone who regularly loads firmware onto these boards and wants to do it from a phone rather than a desktop.
You pick your board from a list, then browse your phone storage for the firmware, bootloader and partition scheme files. For each binary you set a flash offset. The listing says these offsets appear in the output of an esptool build.
The board needs to be in bootloader mode before flashing. The app can switch this on automatically, which is configurable, or you can turn that off for boards that do not support it and use the BOOT and RST buttons instead. You can cancel before a flash or erase starts, though the listing notes that a full cancel can take some time to complete.
Besides writing firmware, the app can read the contents of a chip's memory and erase it. It also lists an OTA update function for updating boards that support it.
Connection settings are adjustable. The listing mentions support for many baud rates and a mode that disables compression, so you can change the speed and transfer method to suit your board and cable.
A built-in serial monitor shows device output as plain text or as a plot. This sits alongside the flashing tools, so you can check what the board prints after a flash.
The listing names the boards it supports: ESP32, ESP8266, ESP32-S2, ESP32-S3, ESP32-C2, ESP32-C3, ESP32-C5, ESP32-C6, ESP32-H2, ESP32-P4 and BW16. It names ESP32 WROOM32, ESP8266 miniD1, ESP32-S2, ESP32-S3, ESP32-C3 mini, ESP32-C5, ESP32-C6, ESP32-H2 and BW16 as the boards the developer tested on.
The build we hold is ESP32_Flasher 4.4.3 (APKS split bundle) for Android 10 and up.
