Esso: Spaarprogramma

What the Esso Extras loyalty app is for

Esso: Spaarprogramma is the phone version of the Esso Extras loyalty scheme. It holds your savings card, shows how many points you have, and lets you spend those points on rewards without carrying a plastic card.

It suits people who already collect Extras points at Esso stations and want the card on their phone, and people who have not joined yet, since the developer says a new user gets a digital card on download. Drivers who fill up often are the group the points system is built around.

Collecting Extras points on each fill-up

If you already have a plastic Extras card, you can add it to the app and keep collecting on the same account. The developer says points are earned on every fill-up.

A repeat fill-up within 4 days earns double points. Your points total is visible in the app at any time.

Spending points on gift cards and shop discounts

Points can be exchanged for gift cards from retailers including bol.com, Hema, de Bijenkorf and Douglas. The developer says there is no limit on the number of gifts you can choose.

The gift card arrives in the app or by email. Separately, points can be used for discounts on products in the Esso shop.

Using points for fuel discounts

Collected points can also go towards a discount on fuel instead of a gift. The app is the place to check how many points you have before choosing between a gift card and a fuel discount.
