What Euclidea is for

Euclidea is a puzzle game built around Euclidean constructions, the drawing problems solved with only a straightedge and compass. Each level gives you a figure to build from a given starting setup.

The listing says the first challenges are simple and walk through the basics, so the game suits students learning the subject. Harder problems come later for players who want more of a challenge.

Solving constructions with a straightedge and compass

Each challenge asks you to build a target shape using the tools you have unlocked. Early puzzles cover the fundamentals, and later ones move on to inner and outer tangents and regular polygons.

Some challenges have more than one valid solution, so you can try a different approach. Solutions are scored in lines (L) and elementary Euclidean constructions (E), so the most economical build gives the highest score.

Unlocking levels and building your toolkit

New levels open as you solve earlier ones. The listing says you need every star to finish the whole game, and an in-app purchase removes that star requirement.

Tools you create along the way go into an inventory that you draw on for later challenges. Constructions you learn, such as angle bisectors and the non-collapsing compass, are added to the interface shortcuts, which keeps drawings clean.

Explore mode, hints and working on the canvas

Explore mode shows the figure you need to construct, and hints are available for stuck puzzles. The listing presents these as a way to see where a build is heading.

On the canvas you can drag to adjust angles, lines and radii, and zoom and pan to look at how the parts of a figure relate. Points, lines and circles are pinned automatically to the interface, so you do not have to place them precisely by hand.
