Most of what it shows depends on a place and a time, so one screen can answer when to fish and where to go. It suits someone planning a day on the water around tides, weather and moon phases.

Tide, weather and feeding time forecasts

The feeding times forecast gives hourly windows with stronger major and minor periods, a daily activity view, and a calendar of best fishing times for bass and other species. Notifications can be set to fire on days with feeding times. Tide charts show the next high and low tides, detailed tidal current and daily highest and lowest tides.

Current conditions and hourly forecasts cover temperature, rain probability and intensity, humidity, UV index, wind speed, gusts and direction, and air pressure. Rain radar and severe weather alerts are included. Marine forecasts add hourly wave, swell and wind wave data, sea surface temperature and ocean currents. Solunar data lists sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset, sun and moon positions and moon phases.

Saving spots, routes and mapping on GPS

Saved spots can carry one of more than 40 icons and 10 colors, and GPS locates them again later. You can record trolling paths and trotlines, measure distances and use a compass. Existing routes from GPS devices or other apps can be imported as KMZ or GPX files.

The app offers four map types, satellite fishing maps and worldwide nautical charts. Offline mode uses NOAA marine charts for boating. Lake depth and contour maps show drop-offs, channels and shallow areas, and the listing says these cover lakes in Florida, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota and Washington. A boat ramp directory lists more than 50,000 ramps worldwide.

Catch logging and sharing with other anglers

The catch log stores each fish with photos, weight and length. Weather, solunar and tide information is added to each catch automatically, so past trips can be reviewed with the conditions attached.

Spots can be shared with friends, and catch photos can be shared with other anglers. Sync keeps saved data available across mobile devices and computers. A web app at web.fishingpoints.app is for planning and analyzing trips on a larger screen.
