What FreePrints is for
FreePrints is a photo printing app. Its main offer is 4x6 prints at no charge, mailed to your door in a few days. The listing says there are no subscriptions and no commitments, and that the only cost you pay is a shipping charge.
It suits people who have a backlog of phone photos they want on paper, such as family snapshots or holiday pictures, and who do not want to pay per print for them.
Choosing photos from phone and cloud accounts
You open the app and select photos stored on your phone. The listing also names Facebook and Dropbox as sources, and says the list goes further than those two.
After you select photos, you set how many copies of each you want, then place the order. The order flow is the same whichever source the photos come from.
Monthly and yearly free print allowance
The free allowance is up to 85 prints of 4x6 size a month, which the listing puts at 1,000 a year. Each photo can be printed free only once, so the limit is one free print per photo.
Prints in other sizes are not free, but the listing describes them as very cheap. The free allowance applies only to 4x6 prints.
Paper choices and shipping costs
You choose between deluxe glossy and premium matte photo paper for your prints. The developer says it uses high-grade paper and promises vivid colour, bright whites and images that do not fade.
Shipping and handling is the only charge on free prints. It starts at $1.99 and is capped at $9.99, and the cap applies regardless of how many prints are in the order.
