Freizeichentöne Telekom

What the app does for callers on Telekom lines

Freizeichentöne Telekom replaces the standard dial tone that callers hear while your phone rings. Instead, they hear a song or a recorded message that you have chosen. The app is aimed at Telekom customers, and the listing says callers are not charged for hearing it.

The tone plays only until the call is answered. After that, the caller hears you as usual.

Choosing songs for the wait before a call is answered

The music catalogue covers current chart songs as well as older evergreens, according to the listing. You pick a track from it and assign it as the ringback tone for the callers you choose. Picking the track is the main thing the app is used for.

Recording messages and sending them to contacts or groups

Besides songs, the app lets you record short messages and assign each one to single people or to whole groups. The listing gives three examples: a loving note for family, an out-of-office notice for business partners, and a funny message for friends. Each message is tied to the people or groups you pick for it.

Recording is built into the app, so no separate recording tool is needed for these messages.

Voice filters and preinstalled messages

Recorded messages can be changed with several voice filters before they are used. If you do not want to record your own, the app includes a set of preinstalled messages, which the listing says can be used at no charge.
