What the Fronius Solar.web app is for

Fronius Solar.web is a monitoring app for solar PV systems built around Fronius equipment. It is aimed at people who have panels and an inverter installed and want to follow their output and earnings from a phone. The listing describes it as a way to check the system wherever you are.

Most of the app is about reading what the system is doing now and what it has done over time. Some parts, such as forecasts, battery management and extended weather data, depend on your system configuration and a Solar.web Premium subscription, which is a chargeable subscription.

Checking live and historical solar output

The live view shows the current data from your PV system. Historical data can be pulled up for a range of time intervals, so you can compare a single day with a week, a month or a longer period.

The app also lets you look at the individual components of the system, so you can see which parts make up the setup you are monitoring.

Forecasts, weather and battery management

Expected generation shows what the system should produce, and extended weather data is listed alongside it. Both depend on your system configuration and the Premium subscription.

Battery control and the Energy Cost Assistant handle storage and costs together. These features also need a compatible battery and the Premium subscription, according to the listing.

Changing device settings and tracking earnings

On supported Fronius inverters, you can adjust device settings from the app. The listing gives battery max. SoC as an example of a setting you can change.

The app also has an earnings evaluation that analyses what the system has returned, and widgets you can place on your home screen to see figures without opening the app.
