SecureInstant and permanent Sim unlock for Samsung Galaxy devices (S2/S3/S4, Ace...)
By Mei-Lin Chua
Contributing editor, apps and storefronts
GalaxSim Unlock is a SIM unlock tool for older Samsung Galaxy handsets. The developer names the S, S2, S3, some S4, Tab, Tab2, Note and Note2 as covered models.
It suits someone with one of these phones who wants to put a SIM from another carrier into it. Support depends on the model, and the listing says many LTE devices are not supported yet.
The main function is the SIM unlock, sold as an in-app payment. The developer says most supported devices need no unlock code, so the process is one button press. On GS2, GS3, GS4 and Note2 models, including ones running the newer ICS or Jelly Bean firmware, the developer says the unlock stays in place after a reboot.
Not every device qualifies. The listing says some SGS3, SGS4 and Note2 phones on a recent firmware update use a new lock system that cannot be unlocked yet.
The backup and restore function copies EFS data and lets you keep the copy in your email or Google Drive account. The listing marks this function as free, unlike the paid SIM unlock.
Restoring is the other half of the same function, so a saved copy can be written back to the phone.
A separate function shows detailed information about the phone's NV and lock state. The developer lists it alongside the unlock and backup tools.
The build we hold is GalaxSim Unlock 2.9.12 (APK) for Android 5.0 and up.
