What GetGo carsharing is and who it is for

GetGo is a carsharing service run through its own mobile app. You register in the app, find a car at one of its stations and use the app to book and unlock it. It is aimed at people who need a car for a set period without owning one or signing up for a long-term arrangement.

The station network covers the island, and the listing says vehicles are available 24/7, so the service is not tied to office hours or a single depot.

Booking a car and unlocking it with your phone

Booking, unlocking and driving are all handled in the GetGo app. The phone takes the place of a physical key, so there is no separate key to collect from a counter. Registration is done in the app as well.

Because the whole process runs on the phone, the booking is tied to the account you register. The listing does not describe any other way to get into a car.

Paying by the hour and by mileage

Charges are based on the hours you use and the mileage you drive. The listing says there is no deposit, no membership fee and no subscription to pay before you drive.

Petrol is included in the charge, so you do not refuel the car yourself. Maintenance and insurance are also covered by GetGo, according to the listing.

What's new

Oct 16, 2026

Booking just got simpler. Instead of picking a duration, you’ll choose a pickup and return date and time. We’ve also updated the default booking duration to 2 hours, so be sure to double-check before confirming.

These changes will roll out to everyone over the next 2 weeks. See you on the road!
