What this Medieval Japan sword fighter is

Glory Ages - Samurais is a 3D action game set in Medieval Japan, built around katana sword battles. Fights depend on timing your dodges and strikes, and on managing stamina, rather than on a single attack button.

The listing describes it as free and rates it Teen. It is aimed at players who want melee combat with a tactical edge, and who want it to run without an internet connection.

Sword combat against samurai, ninjas and bosses

Enemies come in three types: regular samurai warriors, ninjas and bosses. The developer says the enemy AI flanks you, blocks, counter-attacks, and reacts when its allies fall, so waves do not simply queue up to be defeated one at a time.

You control your stamina through each exchange. Rage modes are a separate tool you trigger to take on enemies in harder fights.

Progressing from novice ronin to samurai master

A run starts with a novice ronin. As you clear levels, you unlock better equipment and upgrade your skills, moving toward the status of a legendary samurai warrior master.

Before you start, you pick your hero. The roster ranges from an old warrior to an agile geisha, and the listing presents the choice as shaping how you fight.

Japanese martial arts weapons and the katana

The game includes a range of Japanese martial arts weapons. You can equip whichever suits your fighting style, and the listing highlights choosing the best katana as part of each sword battle.

Because the fighting runs offline, matches do not need a network connection, according to the developer's description.
