gov.br

What gov.br is for

gov.br is an access point for Brazilian digital public services, previously called Meu gov.br. The developer is Serviços e Informações do Brasil. The main job of the app is to act as the login for government sites that offer the Entrar com gov.br button, and to keep your personal data and digital documents in one place.

It suits anyone who uses Brazilian federal online services and wants one account and one app for them.

Signing in to government sites without a password

Any government service that shows the Entrar com gov.br button can be opened through the app, using only the biometric unlock on your phone. There is no password to type or recall for those logins. If you do not have a gov.br account yet, the app can create one, and the listing says you can open the app without going through face recognition.

Viewing and sharing digital documents

Your personal data and digital documents can be viewed inside the app. You can also share them with your contacts, which the developer presents as a way to make daily tasks easier.

Login history and account security levels

The app shows a history of your logins to gov.br sites, which the developer presents as a way to see how your data is being used. You can also raise your account to the silver or gold security level to make it more secure.

Proof of life and e-document signing alerts

The app carries over digital proof of life, the periodic identity confirmation used by some government services. It also sends notifications when an electronic document is waiting for your signature.
