What the app is for

GPS Coordinates Tracker is a Maps & Navigation app for finding and recording latitude and longitude. The developer lists travel, outdoor trips, navigation and geolocation reference as its main uses. It suits people who need a set of coordinates to note down, pass on or plot, such as hikers, geocachers and anyone tagging a location.

Reading your current latitude and longitude

Opening the app shows your present latitude and longitude. The developer says the reading is high accuracy. The listing describes the readout as real-time tracking, so the numbers update as your position changes. It names hiking, geocaching and location tagging as the uses this reading is meant for.

Searching coordinates for any place

You enter a location and the app shows its exact coordinates on the map. Search covers any location worldwide, so the place does not have to be near you. The developer gives trip planning, sharing meeting points and keeping track of places from a distance as examples of what this is for.

Switching between satellite, terrain and standard maps

Three map types are offered: satellite, terrain and standard. You switch between them to see the same spot in a different form. The developer presents this as a way to explore a location in the view you prefer.

Saving and organizing favorite spots

You mark places as favorites and return to them from your saved list. The listing says saved locations can be organized for quicker access and reference. A saved place can be opened again without searching for it a second time.
