What this geotagging camera is for

GPS Photo is a camera app for recording where and when a picture was taken. Its main job is adding location and time details to each shot, so the photo carries its own record. The listing aims it at people who travel or who want to keep track of places they have photographed.

The store summary also mentions weather and maps alongside the location data. The developer's description focuses on navigation details and the map view.

Stamping photos with time and location

Photos are geotagged and timestamped as you take them, so the details are added at capture time rather than afterwards. A date stamper places the date on the image, and custom layouts add travel-themed elements to the frame.

The layouts are the part of the app most focused on decoration. Anyone who wants plain time and place text without frames or themes would use the stamper alone.

Finding photos on a map by location

The map view places your pictures according to where they were taken, so you can browse by location instead of scrolling a single list. It is the feature that turns the geotags into something you can navigate.

This is useful for trips where you took many photos in several places and want to see which pictures came from which spot.

Sorting albums by date and place

The album organizer sorts photos by date and by place. You can use it to group a trip's pictures in order, or to pull together everything taken in one location.

The organizer works from the same timestamps and geotags that the camera records, so it has no separate data to maintain.
