What the HSBC México banking app covers
HSBC México is the mobile banking app for HSBC Mexico customers. It handles transfers, credit card payments, statements, card records, insurance, investment funds, CoDi payments and payroll changes, so most routine banking can be done from a phone.
The listing says HSBC will never ask customers to move money between their own accounts or to other banks. It is aimed at people who already hold HSBC Mexico accounts and cards, since most features work on those products.
Sending money and paying a credit card
Express transfers, named Transferencia Express in the app, are for sending money immediately. A payment to an HSBC credit card shows up in the card balance straight away rather than after processing.
Both payment functions sit next to the account balance, so a transfer or card payment does not require a separate banking website.
Statements, receipts and CoDi payments
You can download account statements, check your cards and see every movement on an account as it happens. Transaction receipts can be shared or saved to the phone's gallery, which is useful for keeping proof of a payment.
CoDi lets you charge or pay by scanning a QR code, or by sending a notification from your mobile device. Each CoDi payment appears in your movement history, so it can be traced like any other transaction.
Updating your profile and getting help
Under My Profile you can change your mobile number and email address directly in the app, without going to a branch. These contact details are what the bank uses to reach you about your accounts.
For questions about your cards, or to file a claim, you can write to an agent through the in-app chat. The listing describes this as the way to raise a dispute, the aclaración process, without phoning or visiting a branch.
Insurance, investment funds and payroll
Insurance can be taken out in the app, and policy details can be viewed at any hour, 24/7. The listing presents this as the way to get support in an emergency.
Investment funds can be opened from the app, where you can follow how your money is invested and see the returns. Payroll, or nómina, can also be redirected from the app, which the listing ties to cashback on debit card purchases at supermarkets.
