PVP Hunting Game
By Mei-Lin Chua
Contributing editor, apps and storefronts
Hunting Sniper is a free action game built around hunting animals from a distance. Google Play files it under Action, rates it Teen, and shows more than 10,000,000 installs on the store.
The listing describes it as a single game that combines animal stalking with a player-versus-player mode, so the hunting happens alongside play against other people rather than only against the environment.
The core activity is tracking an animal through its surroundings and then capturing it. The listing says the animals are based on real species, each tied to the region it lives in.
The developer's description says the game is meant to run entirely on a phone, so the hunt is played on the mobile screen rather than on a console or PC.
The listed settings are Yellowstone Park in the USA, where the targets are a buck, a fox, a coyote or a bear; the African savannah, where zebras are the target; a rainforest, where the target is a tapir; and a remote wilderness area, where the target is a wildebeest.
The listing says more locations and encounters follow these four, but it does not name them.
The listing has a section headed Arms and Arsenal, which points to a set of weapons for the hunt. It does not name the individual weapons.
The game is also listed as a PvP hunting game, meaning players can take their hunts against other players as well as against the animals.
