What Icon Pack Studio is for
Icon Pack Studio is an icon editor for Android home screens. You use it to build your own icon pack, or to change one someone else has already made. The listing's main pitch is that packs often leave some installed apps looking out of place, and this is meant to close that gap.
It suits two kinds of people. The first already likes a particular look and wants every app on the home screen to share it. The second wants to design a set from nothing, whether that is a monochrome set or a colourful one with depth and texture.
Generating icons for apps a pack misses
The app reads the apps installed on your device and generates icons for them. Anything a pack does not cover gets an icon in the same style, so less common apps sit alongside the rest.
You do not have to wait for a designer to draw a missing icon. The listing presents this as a way to keep the whole home screen consistent from the start.
Editing a community design or starting from scratch
You can start a design from blank or open an icon pack shared by the IPS community. Browsing is for finding new styles and creators. Opening a community pack in the icon editor lets you change a colour, adjust a shape or take the design somewhere else.
The editor controls the shapes, colours, sizes and positioning of icons. You can customise backgrounds and outlines, then add lighting and shadows. A preview updates as you edit, and you can save the designs you want to keep.
When a design is finished, you can share it with the community.
Pro effects and where Pro is needed
Pro effects include textures, glow, perspective, colour filters and pixelation. You can combine them, for a subtle finish or for something that stands out.
Some effects and some community packs need Pro. Everything else in the editor is listed without that requirement.
Using the icons on your launcher and keeping a library
You can import a supported icon pack already installed on your device and edit it, moving its look closer to your wallpaper or a new idea. The icons can be used on any launcher. The listing names Pixel Launcher and Samsung One UI as examples, with deeper integration in Smart Launcher.
Your designs are kept in a personal library, so you can switch styles whenever you want. With Google Drive backup enabled, your packs can be restored when you move to another device.
