Searching for jobs and narrowing the results

The search draws on a database that, according to the listing, includes postings from other job sites as well as Indeed's own. The listing says 12 jobs are added every second. Filters narrow results to remote, part time, freelance and side jobs, or to roles where you can work from home or from anywhere.

The app also suggests roles based on your stated preferences and work history. Some listings come from third parties such as government bodies, and the listing states that Indeed is not affiliated with those parties.

Building a resume and applying with it

You can upload an existing resume or build one with Indeed's resume builder. The listing says the resume is what you show employers, so it is the document the app sends with your applications.

Once a resume is saved, you can apply to jobs with it, so you do not retype the same details for each application. Some sign-ins can use a third-party account, according to the listing.

Tracking applications and employer replies

The app keeps a record of the applications you have sent during your search. It can notify you when an employer has read or responded to an application made through Indeed.

This makes it possible to see where each application stands without checking each employer separately.

Pay figures and company reviews

The listing says more than 1.1 billion salaries are searchable by job title, company and location, so you can check what a role pays before applying. Company pages carry more than 700 million ratings and reviews from employees, which the listing describes as a way to understand what staff think about a workplace.
