Janitor is where you step inside stories instead of just reading them.
By Irfan Rosli
News editor
Janitor is an Android app for reading fiction that responds to what you do. Instead of following a fixed text, you talk to characters inside a story, and your messages affect where the plot goes. It is aimed at people who read romance, fantasy and fanfiction and want to take part in the story rather than only follow it.
The listing rates the app Mature 17+. The developer labels this release a beta and says some bugs should be expected while the app is improved.
The build we hold is Janitor: Interactive Stories 2.7.0 (APKS split bundle) for Android 7.0 and up.

Each story runs as a chat. You choose a genre, find a story that fits, and open the chat to see how it develops. Characters reply inside the conversation, and what you write decides which way the plot turns next.
Because the story is built around conversation, the same premise can go in different directions depending on who you talk to and what you ask for.
The listing says Janitor provides tools for creating worlds and then living inside them. It names fantasy creators building whole universes and romance writers crafting slow-burn stories, so the creation side is meant for writers as well as readers.
Original worlds are listed alongside fanfiction, so a story you build yourself sits in the same catalogue as the others.
The listing names romance, fantasy and fanfiction as the main genres. Its examples include arranged marriages, enemies-to-lovers slow burns and epic fantasy adventures. LGBTQ+ stories are listed as a category of their own.
The developer describes a community of millions of readers and writers who build interactive fiction together, with romance writers, fantasy creators and fanfiction authors all contributing.
