Joist: Estimate Invoice Maker

What Joist is for and who it suits

Joist is an estimate and invoice app built for contractors and other trade professionals. The listing describes it as a cloud-based tool for running a job from the first estimate through final payment.

It is listed in the Business category, and a free trial is mentioned on the listing.

Drafting estimates and quotes on site

Estimates and bills are created in the app and can be sent to a client before leaving the site. The listing says an integrated construction estimator is included for building the figures.

Voice commands and AI tools are offered as a faster way to draft quotes. The listing presents them as a way to work on the go.

Invoicing and accepting payments

The listing says invoicing is streamlined and that payments can be accepted in the app. Invoices sit alongside the estimate and customer details for the same job, so the billing record is not kept separately.

Scheduling visits and tracking active work

A calendar view shows upcoming work. The listing says it is meant to help avoid scheduling conflicts from the initial estimate to the final payment.

Active jobs stay in view alongside the schedule, so a contractor can see what is in progress and what is booked next.

Keeping customer records, notes and photos together

Customer details, estimates, invoices, notes, photos and schedules are kept connected in one app. The listing describes the app as cloud-based, so the job history is held online rather than in a single paper file.
